Day 1 – 3rd October 2008, Friday
KLIA – New Delhi Airport -Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi Temple, New Delhi
On 3rd October 2008, I reached New Delhi airport at 5pm. I took an airport taxi and reached Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi ISKCON temple, New Delhi at 7.00pm. I checked in ISKCON guest house where I stayed for the 3 days of my preaching journey in New Delhi. After refreshing myself, the devotees at the temple served me with sumptuous prasadam. I was exhausted due to long hours of traveling, thus I went to bed soon after honoring prasadam.
Delhi and he was happy that I was there to guide the devotees. I took the opportunity to explain to him about the different types of approach that we are using in Malaysia to convince people to offer a ghee lamp. HG Mohan Rupa pr. and Rakesh Uberoi prabhu were astonished with the video presentation and Damodara calendars printed in Malaysia. Soon after my presentation, I presented to him the Damodara figurine. This figurine is
used to invite people to offer ghee lamps to Lord Damodara. I will be presenting about the Damodara program to the devotees of ISKCON New Delhi tomorrow afternoon.
At 8.00 pm, I arrived at Sri Sri Rukmini Krsna Balaram Mandir, West Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. About 300 devotees and well wishers of the temple were gathered to participate in Damaodara promotional event organized by the temple management. I explained to the devotees that in Malaysia last year, we visited 3800 homes with almost 70,000 thousand people offering ghee lamps to Lord Damodara during the auspicious Damodara month, though predominantly it is a Muslim country. After that I presented to them the Damodara video which inspired many devotees. Lastly, I presented Damodara
figurine to Rukmini Krsna das prabhu, who is very enthusiastic to carry out the festival of lights of Sri Damodara in West Punjabi Bagh area, New Dehli.
At 11pm, I reached Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi temple guest house and wentto bed.
Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi Temple, New Delhi – Ghaziabad, New Delhi
At 4.15am, I participated in Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi morning program; Mangal arati, Tulasi puja, Japa, Bhagavatam class, Darshan arati, Srila Prabupada guru puja and chanted 16 rounds of Japa.
At 1pm, I did the Damodara presentation at the temple hall of Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi. About 400 devotees and well wishers attended the talk. I told them the brief pastimes of Lord Damodara and the importance of the reviving the lost culture of Hindus generally. Though many celebrate Deepavali, the underlying spiritual principle is neglected. We can revive the very lost culture by a simple offering of a ghee lamp to
the Lord during the auspicious Karthik month. By encouraging others to offer ghee lamp, not only we will be bestowed by Lord?s mercy, it is also the best way to pay our gratitude to Srila Prabhupada. I finished the session with our spectacular video presentation which inspired many participants.
At 5pm, I made a move to Sri Jagannatha temple in Ghaziabad which is 1 ½ hour journey from Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi temple. Sri Jagannatha temple in Ghaziabad, is situated in Raj Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, North India. The temple was constructed last year and of course much effort needs to be done to revive the number of devotees.
HG Ram Keshva das prabhu, the vice president of the temple and person behind the temple building project, was insisting to project the video presentation in front of the congregational devotees, though there were only 30 devotees gathered around. I happily obliged to his request, and presented him the Damodara figurine as a gift of his hospitality. In return He served us with sumptuous Sri Jagannath maha prasadam. At 11pm, I reached Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi temple guest house and went to bed.
Day 4- 6th October 2008, Monday
At 4.15am, I participated in Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi morning program; Mangal arati, Tulasi puja, Japa, Bhagavatam class, Darshan arati, Srila Prabupada guru puja and chanted 16 rounds of Japa. VIP trip which was scheduled at 1.00 pm was cancelled.
At 5.00 pm, we made a move to West Punjabi Bagh temple as a last stop before proceeding to New Delhi airport. We reached the temple at 6.30p.m, refreshed and took some prasadam served by devotees at the temple.
I presented the Deepavali Damodara program from 8.30pm till 9.45pm. About 300 hundred Bhakti Vrksa devotees gathered eagerly to participate in the program. A vaishnava should be compassionate to other living entities and this is the important qualification that made the acharya’s in the parampara line to descend to deliver the fallen souls like us. As the extended compassion of the Acharya’s in the parampara line, Damodara program offers a simple and easy way to fulfill their desire. A simple ghee lamp offering during Damodara month will make The Lord and acharya’s happy. There will be no better way for a person who has taken shelter of the parampara, to repay the debt.
The members of the temple have agreed to hit 100,000 ghee lamps offerings during the auspious Karthik month this year. Haribol! Furthermore the hospitality and appreciation showed by the congregation is praiseworthy. A non- stop 1 minute applause by the congregation was a deep appreciation felt by them for Sri Jagannath Mandir, Kuala Lumpur yatra for our sweet sweat for the sweet Lord.
At 10.00 pm, I had to rush to the airport as it is already late for the check-in.
Day 5- 7th October 2008, Tuesday
